Prosecutors Accuse New Jersey Man of Killing His Son To Please His Girlfriend
When I came across the title "Father accused of killing his three year old son 'because teenage his girlfriend didn't like children and threatened to break up with him'" on the DAILY MAIL website I was absolutely stunned. I did not know what to make of it at all. One part of me felt, hoped, that the title was the product of some journalist who desperate for a "good" story had made one up. However, no sooner than I had that thought, a second one hit me: It was most likely true, what with the Daily Mail being a reputable paper and the occurrence of such events in the past. That notwithstanding, I still harboured a vestige of hope that somehow, some way, somewhere, the writer had gotten it all wrong.
The alleged murderer, 22-year-old David Creato Jr. of New Jersey, U.S..A, allegedly murdered his son because his 17-year-old girlfriend, Julia Spensky had complained of the boy, Brendan Creato, being a problem in their relationship as she had a disliking for kids. David had custody of him every other weekend, and as such, he was still in contact with the boy's mother; a state of affairs Julia was not happy with.
Brendan Creato's body was found in Cooper River Park about three hours after his father reported him missing from their Cooper Street home on October 13, 2015, claiming that he had woken up to discover that his son had wandered out of the apartment. Bruising near his neck and tell-tale signs of oxygen deprivation in the brain showed suggested that he had died by strangulation, smothering or drowning.
It is absolutely shocking the lengths some men will go to just to please a most-undeserving "woman?"
Is Julia Spensky, David's love interest, not a minor? What is the age of consent in New Jersey? I just looked it up: It is 16, so David is not guilty of having sex with a minor. Let's see how he fares with the charge of murdering his son. If he is actually guilty of murdering - or having a hand in the murder - Brendan Creato, all I have to say is "Your possession of the facilities for reproduction does not make you ready or fit to be a parent."
