If you grew up in Nigeria, United States, United Kingdom or lots of other parts of the world in the 80s and/or 90s, and you had a television in your home- or your friends did- it is at least 90 percent likely like you were a fan of wrestling. When, I say wrestling I don't mean the boring, REAL stuff they do at the Olympics, I mean the madly entertaining, flashy, fun, FAKE stuff served up by the World  Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). The wrestling where the small guys sometimes beat the Huge guys to a pulp. The wrestling where the use of dangerous objects like hammers, steel chairs and the like were not prohibited. The wrestling where the wrestlers jumped off the ropes and landed on their opponents, male wrestlers sometimes beat up their female counterparts, and male and female wrestlers performed great feats of acrobatics. The wrestling that had well-established rivalries like that between the Hulkamania (Hulk Hogan) and Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior, and Hulk Hogan and The Macho Man (Randy Savage). Finally, I am talking about the wrestling whose wrestlers had such fantastic names as those aforementioned and more. Names  like Roddy Piper, Zeus, Mr. Perfect, Jake "The Snake Roberts, Papa Shango, The Million Dollar Man (Ted Di Biase), Sergeant Slaughter and The Undertaker. I'll admit, I, like every other kid in the 80s and 90s, once dreamed of being a wrestler.
This part features the Ugandan Giant, Kamala.

Kamala was born in Senatobis, Mississippi,  on the 28th of May, 1950 and christened James Harris. Yes, Kamala is unfortunately not his real name. Sorry guys.He was neither Ugandan and definitely not a savage or cannibal. IIt was all a gimmick, albeit a racist one in retrospect. He was highly entertaining and his looks (his 6 feet 7 frame and face paint) scared the hell out of me children around the world.

So where is he now? Where is the Ugandan Giant? Could he be living the high life somewhere as a wealthy, retired ex-wrestler? The answer is NO. Kamala has lost both his legs to disease and the giant is now confined to a wheel chair and seeking financial assistance. You don't believe me, look at the images and video below  and see for yourself. Given the fact that this man is a legend, has done a great deal for the legacy of wrestling and was even underpaid (compared to his peers) in his heyday, I believe this man deserves more than a little assistance. Wake up to your responsibilities Mr McMahon and save your organisation (WWF) from further shame.
