High Times, The Cannabis Cup

Yes, neither your eyes nor your ears are playing tricks on you. The title above is not a concoction of the author. There is actually a magazine called the High Times, and this magazine annually  hosts an event, a competition called The Cannabis Cup. I too just discovered these phenomena, and although I cannot be considered a connoisseur of the green herb, I know a lot of people who can, and I am absolutely sure they would be thrilled to discover the existence of their own version of the New York Times and a competition where growers and sellers of the green stuff competed against each other to earn the title of Best Cannabis Strain and other such titles up for grabs. This competition has been in existence for 27 years and I am more than shocked that it has just come into my consciousness.

I am sure that weed lovers will be pleased to hear that lots of freebies - joints, vapour bags, snacks - are dished out by the competitors at the Cannabis Cup, and this indeed has been one of the major pulls to the event. Unfortunately for the connoisseurs of everything Cannabis, the competition holds in just a handful of cities world wide. Of course, you would expect Amsterdam (The Netherlands) to be one of such cities and it definitely does not disappoint. This year, the Amsterdam event runs from November 23 to November 27, 2014. Other cities are Southern California, Denver, San Francisco, Portland, Clio, Michigan, Seattle (All U.S cities). Tickets to these events can be secured on cannabiscup.com (can also be accessed through the High Times website).
