NISSAN CAUGHT DECEIVING CONSUMERS WITH ITS ADVERT

This is the reason why lots of people view businessmen and businesses as evil and out to make money any way they can (unscrupulously or not). And this is also why the discerning find it hard to trust or swallow hook, line and sinker, whatever they see on television. According to money.cnn.com, the Nissan advertisement that shows a Nissan Frontier purportedly pushing a dune buggy up and over a steep sandy hill is deceptive. According to the Federal Trade Commission (an American body), the dune buggy was actually being dragged up the hill by means of a rope attached to it. However, according to the website, Nissan was fined $0 but agreed to not make such deceiving commercials in future. In my own opinion they should have paid a hefty fine. That would have served as a deterrent to other companies thinking of using deception to improve the fortunes of their products in the market place and inadvertently dump on the consumer a product that cannot do what the company says it can do. The consumer/customer should be protected and remain king in every way. It is a shame that capitalists seem to be forgetting this fact.
