Father of Murdered 4-Year-Old Girl Believes Child Protection Services Failed Her
On the morning of March 11, Euclid police and fire responded to a call from Aniya's mother's home where they met an unresponsive Aniya Day-Garrett who later died at the hospital from a stroke.
Children and Family Services stated that they received three calls about the Day-Garretts and eventually opened a six-week investigation into them, but could not find enough evidence to justify the removal of Aniya from the apartment in which she lived with her mother and mother's boyfriend.
Mother of Aniya, Sierra Day, and her boyfriend, Deonte Lewis have been charged with aggravated murder and are being remanded on a $1 million bond each.
