FINALLY!!! MARK ZUCKERBERG RESURFACES AND ADDRESSES THE CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA SCANDAL
















It seems the #whereiszuck trend has finally paid off as Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg finally emerged yesterday to give us his side of the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Of course he did so on his own platform, Facebook.

The post goes through a timeline of events, with the accurate confirmation that Facebook both closed off the access to the data of friends of people who installed apps back in 2014 - too late, however, to stop Cambridge Analytica gaining access to the data of 50m US citizens - and also, damningly, that they knew about the data breach two years ago following the publication of an article in the Guardian.

Zuckerberg says that Facebook “demanded that Kogan and Cambridge Analytica formally certify that they had deleted all improperly acquired data. They provided these certifications.” 
However, we know from whistleblower Christopher Wylie that “literally all I had to do was tick a box and sign it and send it back, and that was it. Facebook made zero effort to get the data back.”

Nonetheless, Zuckerberg promises three changes to Facebook:
